The gospel continues (part 7)
But why would Eve care about that? That's where we stopped. So I continue...
Adam and Eve lived in a paradise called the garden of Eden where everything they have is good. It is the best place they could possibly be. So I ask myself what is there to evaluate whether what God is doing is good or not.
As you can see so far from the gospel, these are the details we miss in this whole temptation. What Satan exposed in that moment was that Eve had no way to validate God's intentions towards her and how do I know that?
I know it because the last thing Eve observed is that this tree has the ability to make one wise. This is the reason why you shouldn't tolerate anything called sin for a second.
Stay away from evil communications before it makes you forget who you are in God. --- 1 Corinthians 15:33
Now, up to that point of being in the garden, they had not eaten from that tree. The tree was there. The tree was available. They could have eaten from it at any time. With all this realization, I ask myself a question...
What changed when Eve suddenly had a need for wisdom that would make her to gamble her life on eating from that tree? What changed? What changed was that she came to a realization that the only way she knew God was good was what God had told her.
Are you getting it now? God could have saved Adam and Eve instantly but old testament and new testament has to be established so that whenever we doubt his goodness, we have our bible with us to look into. If you're not getting it, you still have a long way to go in God.
Eve had no basis for evaluating God's intentions towards her apart from God's word which was very little in her and when that moment struck, the moment she began thinking of God's goodness, it now gave Satan a way to plant a seed called questioning God's intentions and it made her feel so insecure.
This is a scenario whereby you tend to think that your parents don't know better than you but that you know better than them and you start to evaluate to determine if those things they told you are actually in your best interest and if the only information you have from them is enough and when you start thinking like that, you see yourself seeking another source just as Eve noticed at that moment that the quantity of her personal experiences were insufficient to evaluate God.
With Eve thinking of this... Till tomorrow. Have a nice day because God has made it so
