Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Well, last night’s sleep was a bust and it had little to do with the Northern Lights. It had everything to do with me in my head and thinking about the new assignment for the next three days. Instead of praying for guidance, I decided that I had the plan. Incidentally, my brain did not shut off, and my sleep was less than restful. Incidentally, now, I have a hovering headache. Not cool. No one to blame but myself.
While checking my emails and messages this morning, I found that I have not paid a bill I was sure I took care of that day. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that was also my fault. As that day’s events progressed, I remembered why I didn’t pay it and that I forgot to go back. I have no one to blame but myself.
I use Splenda in my coffee. I have been very low for quite a bit and continuously tell myself to pick some up. Have even went into our tiny town Walmart (Dollar General) at least three times and the grocery store I use in the town where I work just as many … walking out forgetting. I have no one to blame but myself.
So, with those three mega atrocities in my life looming over my head giving me headaches, I can either succumb to the disgrace that I am getting older and forgetful … or … I can just fix it and go on. Obviously I cannot change the way I slept last night; however, I can change my mindset for this new assignment. I can just pay the bill this morning. I can just make a new list and stop at the store on my way home tonight. None of the issues stated above are enough for me to lose my peace…forever. I have already allowed too much of a disturbance, however, nothing that cannot be corrected. My sugar laden cup of coffee is half gone, which means that my headache from lack of sleep is almost gone thanks to the caffeine in the coffee. I have spoken to the Father about my three-day assignment. When I finish my posting and letters, I will switch to bill payments, and we will be all caught up. Before I even walk out the door.
When we forget things or decide we know what is best, the enemy uses those moments to create chaos in our minds. Telling us that we should just stop while we are ahead. That it is too late to fix. That there is no need to continue because of this, that, or the other. He makes such a compelling case, that often we listen … and obey.
So, this is what I suggest … as soon as one of those situations arise … and it will. But as soon as it arises, go to the Father in prayer. If it was sinful thing (such as me deciding how to attack this three-day assignment … without love) ask for forgiveness and then guidance. If it is just mindful thing, ask Him for ways to help you in the future. He is there waiting for you to come to Him. Anytime. Not just when you are drowning, but when you are sitting on the dock with your feet dangling in the water. He is there.
Father I thank you that You are always present in my daily routine and that even though You know my moves, you accept me for who I am. I need only to come to You. Guide me today as embark on this day filled with opportunities and adventures. May my words and actions bring glory to Your name. Amen
Be blessed today my friends.
