“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her… and the valley of Achor for a door of hope… and thou shalt call me Ishi.” - Hosea 2:14–16
Thought Of The Day...
Hosea’s story reveals a love unlike any other. God asked him to marry Gomer — a woman who would leave him — to show Israel, and us, how He loves His people even when they wander.
When we run, God doesn’t reject us — He runs after us.
He says, “I will allure her and speak to her heart.”
That means God draws us back gently, not through fear, but through grace.
Even in the wilderness, when life feels dry and silent, God is near.
He’s turning your valley of trouble into a door of hope.
Where shame once lived, joy can rise again.
And in verse 16, He says, “You will call Me Ishi — My Husband.”
He doesn’t just want obedience — He wants relationship.
He’s not after religion; He’s after your heart.
Prayer...
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for loving me when I was unlovable.
Thank You for pursuing me when I ran away.
Draw me back into Your arms.
Speak to my heart again in the wilderness.
Turn my valleys of trouble into doors of hope.
Teach me to love You, not out of fear, but out of relationship.
Today, I call You not “Master,” but “Beloved.”
Thank You, Lord, for being Ishi — the God who never lets me go.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Something to Think About...
God’s love doesn’t give up — it goes after you.
Let Him speak to your heart today and open your door of hope.
