The Problem Solver
Whenever something happens, whether good or bad, there’s a natural instinct to tell someone. Some choose to share intimate details of their lives on social media with perfect strangers who couldn’t care less what happens to them. Oversharing is usually because people need someone to care, someone to affirm them, and let them know that they matter. Some are so desperate for attention and “love” that they sadly measure their worth by how many “likes” they receive. Others share with their friends and family, but sadly, they don’t always receive the affirmation they’re seeking. It’s human nature to want someone to share your joy, or to give you comfort when your heart is breaking, but don’t forget to share with your very Best Friend, Jesus. He loves for you to tell Him everything about your life: the good, the bad, and even the ugly. Too often, “talking to God” only happens when you’re facing a crisis or in trouble and need help, or when your circle of friends are not there for you. But God is always there for you, no matter what time of day. When your heart is troubled, go to the Problem Solver first! He not only loves you more than anyone else possibly could, but He alone has the power to actually fix your problems. It only makes sense to talk to Jesus rather than lament to strangers on social media about all your struggles. There is no trial you are going through that is too big for God to handle, and His affirmation is far better than all the “likes” you could ever receive from strangers. The Bible says in Psalm 91:14-16, “ ‘Because he loves me,’ says the Lord, ‘I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life, I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.’ ” The best thing about talking to God is that you can trust Him completely! He will answer every prayer according to what’s best for you, and His timing is perfect. Remember to “worship God” and tell Him how much you love Him. He loves to hear your praises, so thank Him for His goodness, His many blessings, and most of all, for loving you. Worship gets you through the hardest times of your life because it shifts your focus from the problem... to the Problem Solver. Text: Psalm 50:15, Nahum 1:7, Psalm 121:1-2, Proverbs 3:5-6
