THE ADVENT TRUTH
But here’s the truth: the Old Testament is about the resurrection — it’s the foundation of it. When Jesus said, “Search the Scriptures… for they are they which testify of Me” (John 5:39), the New Testament didn’t even exist yet! The Scriptures He pointed to were the Law, the Psalms, and the Prophets (Luke 24:44). That means every sacrifice, every feast, every prophecy was pointing to Christ’s death and resurrection.

Paul didn’t preach a new gospel. He said he spoke “no other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come — that Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first that should rise from the dead” (Acts 26:22-23). The Old Testament isn’t outdated — it’s fulfilled. It reveals why the resurrection was necessary. The New Testament reveals how it was accomplished.

Jesus is on every page of Scripture. The Passover lamb, the manna, Jonah in the fish, Joseph in the pit — all shadows of the resurrection story! To reject the Old Testament is to reject the very evidence Jesus used to prove who He was.

And yes, “Catholic” means universal — but the true church is every believer who follows the Lamb wherever He goes, and obeys all Ten Commandments by faith (Revelation 12:17, 14:4). Christ’s church is not defined by Rome, but by righteousness.

We don’t live in the Old Testament — we live in the whole Word of God. The Law and the Prophets were the foundation; the Gospel is the fulfillment. Together, they reveal one continuous plan — a risen Savior and a soon-coming King.
