Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

My mother and I have a very special bond. God placed us together for two reasons, I believe. Probably more, haha, but we will try to not squirrel out past the two.

WE are the same, but opposite at the same time. Ways that we are the same…family is absolute. Being analytical is not necessarily a bad thing, even when it too much. Love, where maybe not ooey gooey, is oh so felt. There is never a question on where we stand.

Ways that we are different: I am a 56-year-old child who gets on the floor with the littles and laughs. I have stepped out of one comfort zone and started writing…publicly.

Things she has taught me: how to stand, how to work, how to love with all my heart and soul.

The relationship that I have with my mother is the one I wanted with my daughter. There have been times where I thought I was on the right path and times when I was not so sure, and others when I was sure I had completely missed the mark. However, the other day… she was so me and we were so on point … I could feel my mother’s love through me from her.

The conversation was, I am sure very important … haha, however in the middle of the conversation my daughter started the next loop with this (mind you we were not talking on this subject prior) “Mother…I am saying this with the utmost respect … and love …. But you suck at promoting your books.”

I busted out laughing. And agreed. This led to a series of banters to which she countered with (paraphrased) … “So…you are going to let YOUR self-doubt of the books GOD gave you get in the way of leading people to God.” Which, of course, led to another set of hopeless banters on my end. She countered very well. (Why did I raise her this way … hahahahahaha) At some point, she asked me … “You’re an author and you can’t write a script promoting your own books?” <insert mega sarcasm tone> Yep, my kid.
After that very pointed, light but not light because she was right, and obvious word from the Holy Spirit, through my spirited child, I know that I need to quit being afraid of sounding like a used car salesman and find my course for better promoting my books to lead others to God. This is definitely a ME problem where I have allowed the enemy to block my path. Though I have felt the need to do something, I have conveniently found one excuse after another to not move forward…that is the enemy. I know better.

God has this way of putting the right people in our paths for a distinct purpose. The bond between me, my mother, and my daughter is out of this world. Is it exactly what I imagined … no. But as I use my analytical brain of love … it is so much better.

Today I encourage you to look at the people in your life and how they have made you better. All relationships, good and bad, always work to make us better.

Be blessed today my friends.

*** 12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.—Matthew 18:12-14
