Mystical Gardens Tale
The Garden of Joy
Most gardens open to those in sorrow, those who carry the smell of tears or the weight of old wounds. But not this one.
Today, the Garden of Joy felt dimâits blossoms drooping, its golden vines curling in on themselves. A deep hush rested across the petals, and the tree at its center sighed. Even gardens, ancient and heavenly, could feel low.
But then, footsteps approached.
Not heavy. Not wandering.
Light. Rhythmic. Almost⌠musical.
A woman was walking a narrow path outside the veilâconfident, bright-eyed, humming to herself as though the sun traveled with her. Joy radiated from her heart so strongly that the garden felt it before she even drew near.
The garden perked up.
Its flowers lifted their heads.
Vines shimmered.
The air brightened.
The garden, longing to be seen, let its beauty ripple outwardâjust enough to brush her spirit. Not a call, not a summons⌠just a gentle invitation.
She stopped.
A smile curved on her lips, as if a forgotten childhood memory had tapped her shoulder. She turned her head, and her eyes softened. âOh⌠whatâs this?â
She stepped forwardâand the veil opened like a curtain drawn back for a friend.
The moment she entered, songs flooded her mind. Simple ones at firstâmelodies she hadnât thought of in years. Then words. Then harmonies. Before she knew it, she was singing out loud, her voice blending with birdsong that hadnât existed a heartbeat earlier.
Thoughts of hope and goodness bubbled to the surface.
She laughedâa bright, soaring laugh that filled the roots below and branches above.
The garden drank it in like living water.
Petals unfurled in her wake.
Leaves shivered with delight.
And as she dancedâlight-footed, carefreeâshe brushed her fingers along the foliage. Each touch left behind a spark of energy, tiny droplets of joy that soaked into stems and vines, healing what had wilted.
The garden pulsed with life.
It wanted to speak.
To beg her to stay.
To thank her.
But it stayed silent. Joy should never be interrupted or redirected. A wordâany wordâcould shift the purity of the moment. And besides⌠gardens could not move. They could only bloom and hope someone saw.
Eventually, she reached the far edge of the garden. The veil shimmered again, opening without resistance. With one last bright laugh, she stepped out and continued her walk, humming the song the garden had given her.
The Garden of Joy remained vibrant long after she left, its leaves trembling with newfound strength.
If only more could see it, the garden thought.
But it knew better.
Only those with faith could perceive the gardens at allâfaith in God, faith in goodness, faith that beauty can still break into the world. Evil saw the gardens too, but with hunger, not reverence. So the gardens guarded their gates fiercely. They could detect darkness and block it instantly.
Only a weak garden let negativity enter, and even then only when it intended to lift someone out of itâwith Godâs blessing.
But joy⌠pure joyâŚ
that was a gift.
And today, the garden had been given more than enough.
After You Leave the Garden
Carry that melody you felt.
Let joy be a seed God planted in you long before today.
And rememberâsometimes the healing isnât for you at all.
Sometimes you are the one who heals the garden.
Take a breath.
Let joy rise quietly inside youâ
the kind that has no reason other than that God is near.
Step forward with lightness. Some gardens open not for healing,
but simply because they recognize a heart that dances.
