DON'T DESPISE YOUR SMALL BEGINNING. ( Kathryn Kuhlman )
In those early years I would wait until the farmers were finished with their milking, their plowing, their harvesting, before I held my meetings. When it was dark they would file in one by one for the services. I have preached in almost every little crossroad town in Idaho: Emmett, Filer, Caldwell. Nobody really wanted me, and I did not blame them much, but I offered my services anyway. Where the churches were closed, where they had no preacher, there is where I went and I would say, “Your church is closed and you have nothing to lose and you might gain something if you allow me to preach.”
That was the start of my spiritual education. Today it seems that so many young folks want to begin at the top rung of the ladder—with instant fame or as a celebrity. I know where I began, from whence I have come, and I shall never forget it.
