THE ADVENT TRUTH
This picture says everything about the times we’re living in. The Bible warned us that in the last days, people wouldn’t lose the truth—they would reject it. Not because the truth isn’t clear, but because it isn’t comfortable. Paul said it plainly: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…” (2 Timothy 4:3). We’re watching that prophecy fulfilled right in front of us.
Why are comforting lies more appealing than the unpleasant truth? Because truth demands repentance. Truth exposes sin. Truth calls us to obedience. Jesus said the way to life is narrow, and few find it. But lies? Lies offer a broad, easy road that feels good and costs nothing—until it costs everything.
Today people would rather hear a gospel with no cross, Christianity with no obedience, salvation with no surrender, and a Jesus who requires nothing. They want “teachers having itching ears”—preachers who entertain, affirm, and soothe the conscience instead of calling people to holiness. But the real Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Truth has never been popular—but it has always been necessary.
Standing for truth in these last days isn’t about winning arguments; it’s about standing with Christ even when the crowd goes the other way. It’s about choosing Scripture over tradition, obedience over convenience, conviction over comfort. And yes—sometimes the truth stings. Sometimes it exposes idols. Sometimes it isolates. But the same truth that wounds also heals. The same truth that confronts also saves.
Don’t follow the crowd into comforting deception. Follow the Lamb wherever He goes. Even if the truth is “unpleasant,” it is still the truth that sets us free.
If you’re choosing truth over popularity today—you’re already in the right path.
