1 Thessalonians 5:1-4 But as to the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need to have anything written to you.
For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
When people say, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape.
But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief.
Isaiah 13:6-11 Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; as destruction from the Almighty it will come!
Therefore all hands will be feeble, and every man's heart will melt,
and they will be dismayed. Pangs and agony will seize them; they will be in anguish like a woman in travail. They will look aghast at one another; their faces will be aflame.
Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the earth a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.
For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising and the moon will not shed its light.
I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant, and lay low the haughtiness of the ruthless.
1 John 2:8-11 Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness still.
He who loves his brother abides in the light, and in it there is no cause for stumbling.
But he who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
