“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”– Revelation 3:15–16
Thought Of The Day...
Jesus speaks these piercing words to the church of Laodicea—yet they are just as relevant for us today. The Lord says, “I know your works.” There is nothing hidden, nothing unnoticed, nothing overlooked. God sees the temperature of our hearts.
Lukewarmness is spiritual apathy. It’s drifting instead of drawing near. It’s knowing truth but not pursuing transformation. It’s giving God some of us but not all of us.
Jesus doesn’t desire half-hearted devotion—He calls for a burning, passionate, committed relationship. Not perfection, but pursuit. Not flawless living, but fervent love.
When we are lukewarm, we lose spiritual hunger, urgency, and fire. But when we become “hot,” we burn with purpose, prayer, obedience, and desire for God’s presence. Jesus is not pushing us away with this warning—He is pulling us closer, inviting us to reignite our flame.
Something To Think About...
• Are there areas of your walk where you’ve become comfortable or complacent?
• Have you stopped praying like you used to?
• Has worship become routine instead of reverent?
• Is your Bible read, but not absorbed?
Jesus is knocking—not with anger, but with invitation:
“Come back to the fire.”
Prayer...
Father God, in the name of Jesus, I come to You asking for renewal and restoration.
Forgive me for every area where I have grown lukewarm or complacent.
Lord, stir my heart again—refresh my desire to pray, worship, and seek Your presence daily.
Reignite the fire of passion, purpose, and devotion within me.
Let Your Spirit revive my hunger for Your Word and strengthen my commitment to walk in obedience.
Remove anything that has cooled my spiritual temperature, and replace it with a burning love for You.
Help me to stay focused, consistent, and surrendered to Your will.
Let my life reflect a heart on fire for Your glory.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Closing Thought...
Don’t settle for lukewarm living.
Return to prayer.
Return to worship.
Return to the Word.
Return to the fire of God.
Jesus deserves your whole heart.
Give Him everything today.
