DO I KNOW JESUS?, DOSE JESUS KNOW ME?
It’s easy to say you know Jesus—but the real question is, does Jesus know you?
Many people claim to know Jesus simply by name, by cultural association, or by religious tradition. They may know about Him—His miracles, His teachings, or even the story of His death and resurrection. But Scripture makes it clear that salvation is not about merely knowing facts about Jesus—it’s about belonging to Him and being in a living relationship with Him.
Jesus warned in Matthew 7:21–23: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven… Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” These are some of the most sobering words in the Bible. They reveal that it is possible to profess Christ outwardly, yet not truly be known by Him inwardly.
To “know” Jesus in a saving way means to repent, believe in Him as Lord, and follow Him as a disciple. And for Jesus to “know” us means that we belong to Him—that our names are written in the Book of Life, that His Spirit dwells within us, and that our lives bear the fruit of genuine faith.
So the question every person must ask is not just “Do I know Jesus?” but “Does Jesus truly know me as His own?”
