They wrote: “How we spend our Sunday is a test of our priorities… when Sunday is not set aside for rest, I think we are failing that test.” Beloved, prophecy students should recognize this language! The Bible foretells a time when a false sabbath (Sunday) will be exalted as the sign of faithfulness, while God’s true Sabbath (Saturday, the seventh day) will be rejected. THE BIBLE SAYS “Hallow my Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.” — Ezekiel 20:20 “He shall think to change times and laws…” — Daniel 7:25 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12 THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY SPEAKS Ellen G. White warned: “The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty… the observance of the false sabbath in compliance with the law of the state… will be an avowal of allegiance to the power that is in opposition to God.” — The Great Controversy, p. 605 What the Catholic Church calls “the test of loyalty to God,” prophecy identifies as the mark of the beast test — when civil power enforces a human command in place of God’s holy law. THE UNITED STATES WILL LEAD “When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions—then Protestant America will have formed an image to the Roman hierarchy.” — GC p. 445 This Catholic call for Sunday “faithfulness” is the soft push before the storm — moral framing before legal enforcement. When the churches and lawmakers unite to protect “Sunday rest” for the common good, that union will become the image to the beast. WHAT IT MEANS FOR US The line is being drawn. • God’s seal = the seventh-day Sabbath (Exodus 20:8–11). • Man’s mark = enforced Sunday rest (Revelation 13:16–17). The issue is worship and authority. Will we obey the Creator’s law or man’s decree? Now is the time to stand for God’s commandments through faith in Jesus Christ. THE CALL “Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” — Revelation 14:7 Beloved, true worship is the test of loyalty. Hold fast to the Sabbath of the Lord your God. The final crisis is forming before our eyes. FOOTNOTE: From “Liberty of Conscience Threatened” (GC ch. 35) Ellen White explains that Rome is silently growing in power: “Her doctrines are exerting their influence in legislative halls, in the churches, and in the hearts of men… The Roman Church is far-reaching in her plans and modes of operation. She is employing every device to extend her influence and increase her power in preparation for a fierce and determined conflict to regain control of the world.” — GC 581–582 She warns that Protestant America, forgetting the principles of liberty, will stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp Rome’s power: “When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power… our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government.” — GC 588 This post’s headline fulfills that prophecy’s first stage: a growing public and religious campaign to make Sunday sacred, paving the way for legal compulsion in the name of national healing and moral renewal. FINAL APPEAL Now is the time to be sealed with the seal of the living God. Hold fast to Christ, honor His commandments, and proclaim the everlasting gospel while mercy still lingers.
