Mark 8:1-10 In those days, the multitude being very great and having nothing to eat, Jesus called His disciples to him and said to them.
"I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with me three days and have nothing to eat.
"And if I send them away hungry to their own houses, they will faint on the way; for some of them have come from afar."
Then His disciples answered Him, "How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?"
He asked them,
"How many loaves do you have?"
And they said, "Seven."
So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And He took the seven loaves and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and they set them before the multitude.
They also had a few small fish; and having blessed them, He said to set them also before them.
So they ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets of leftover fragments.
Now those who had eaten were about four thousand. And He sent them away,
immediately got into the boat with His disciples, and came to the region of Dalmanutha.
2 Kings 4:42-44 Then a man came from Baal Shalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. And he said, "Give it to the people, that they may eat."
But his servant said, "What? Shall I set this before one hundred men? He said again, "Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the LORD; 'They shall eat and have some left over.'"
So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.
Matthew 26:26-30 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said,
"Take, eat; this is my body."
Then he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying,
"Drink from it, all of you.
"For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shred for many for the remission of sins.
"But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom."
And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
1 Corinthians 11:23-30 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you; that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said,
"Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying,
"This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.
Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.
