Searching For Hope NAB

Christ In Us

Christ in You, Hope of Glory

Colossians 1:24-29 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body, which is the church

of which I am a minister in accordance with God's stewardship given me to bring to completion for you the word of God,

they mystery hidden from ages and from generations past. But now it has been manifested to his holy ones,

to whom God chose to made known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; it is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

It is he whom we proclaim, admonishing everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

For this I labor and struggle, in accord with the exercise of his power working within me.

Unity in the Body

Bond of Peace

Ephesians 4:1-10 I, then, a prisoner by the Lord, urge you to love in a manner worthy of the call you have received,

with all humility and gentleness, with patience bearing with one another through love,

striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace;

one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call;

one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Diversity of Gifts

But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.

Therefore, it says; "He ascended on high and took prisoners captive; he gave gifts to men."

What dies "he ascended" mean except that he also descended into the lower [regions] of the earth?

The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.

He chose you to be saved

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 But we ought to give thanks to God for you always, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in truth.

To this end he has [also] called you through our gospel to possess to glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace,

encourage your hears and strengthen them in every good deed and word.
