THE SECRET PLACE — DWELLING WHERE GOD ABIDES
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” — Psalm 91:1
Introduction
Every believer is called not only to visit but to dwell in the secret place of God. It is not a geographical location but a spiritual realm — a place of intimacy, communion, and divine covering. The secret place is where the noise of the world fades and the voice of God becomes clear. It is where strength is renewed, direction is received, and the believer’s heart is aligned with the heartbeat of Heaven.
In a generation that glorifies busyness and performance, few believers know the joy of abiding in the presence of God. Many have settled for public displays of worship but lack private devotion. Yet, the power and depth of one’s Christian life are not measured in the crowd but in the secret place — where no one sees but God alone.

2. The Requirements for Dwelling in the Secret Place

• Consistency: Abiding requires constancy. God is not found by occasional seekers but by those who daily draw near, not out of duty but desire.
Dwelling means staying — remaining in unbroken fellowship, refusing to let distractions displace devotion.
3. The Rewards of the Secret Place
“He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust.” — Psalm 91:4
Those who dwell in the secret place enjoy divine protection, revelation, and empowerment.
• Protection: The shadow of the Almighty is a fortress that no enemy can penetrate. Hidden in His presence, the believer becomes untouchable by fear and destruction.
• Revelation: God whispers His secrets to those who stay close. The secret place is the training ground of prophets, intercessors, and revivalists.
• Empowerment: Fresh fire falls on those who tarry. The secret place is the womb of spiritual power and authority — the place where weakness meets divine strength.
Every public victory is born from a private encounter. Every anointing that shakes nations originates from hours spent in the secret place.
4. The Lifestyle of the Secret Place
“Abide in Me, and I in you…” — John 15:4
The secret place is not an event but a lifestyle. It is walking in constant awareness of God’s presence — talking with Him while working, listening to Him while resting, and acknowledging Him in every decision.
The deeper believer has learned to carry the secret place everywhere. Their heart becomes God’s dwelling place. Such people carry peace in storms, wisdom in confusion, and power in weakness because they live in communion with the Almighty.
To dwell in the secret place is to make the presence of God your permanent address.

“Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee…” — Isaiah 26:20
