Return to Me NKJV

Jeremiah 7:1-11 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

"Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, 'Hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the LORD!''

Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; "Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

"Do not trust in these lying words, saying, 'The temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD are these.'

"For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor,

"if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt,

"then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.

"Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit.

"Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know,

"and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, 'We are delivered to do all these abominations'?

"Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of thieves in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it," says the LORD.

Jeremiah 4:1-4 "If you will return, O Israel," says the LORD, "Return to Me; And if you will pull away your abominations out of My sight, Then you shall not be moved.

And you shall swear, 'The LORD lives,' In truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; The nations shall bless themselves in Him, And in Him they shall glory."

For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem; "Break up your fallow ground, And do not sow among thorns.

Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, And take away the foreskins of your hearts, You men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Lest My fury come forth like fire, And burn so that no one can quench it, Because of the evil of your doings,"

Jeremiah 5:30-31 "An astonishing and horrible thing, Has been committed in the land;

The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; And My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?

Jeremiah 18:11-17 "Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, 'Thus says the LORD; "Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good."'"

And they said, "That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans, and we will every one obey the dictates of his evil heart."

Therefore thus says the LORD; "Ask now among the Gentiles, Who has heard such things? The virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing.

Will a man leave the snow water of Lebanon, which comes from the rock of the field? Will the cold flowing waters be forsaken for strange waters?

"Because My people have forgotten Me, They have burned incense to worthless idols. And they have caused themselves to stumble in their ways, From the ancient paths, To walk in pathways and not on a highway,

To make their land desolate and a perpetual hissing; Everyone who passes by it will be astonished And shake his head.

I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will show them the back and not the face In the day of their calamity."

Micah 3:8-12 But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression And to Israel his sin.

Now hear this, Your heads of the house of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel, Who abhor justice And pervert all equity.

Who build up Zion with bloodshed And Jerusalem with iniquity;

Her heads judge for a bribe, Her priests teach for pay, And her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the LORD, and say, "Is not the LORD among us? No harm can come upon us."

Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple Like the bare hills of the forest.
