Abeba was married at age 13 in Ethiopia and had her first child the following year. When Abeba experienced a dramatic change after praying with Christians and giving her life to Christ, her husband was not happy. He told her that she had to choose him or Christ. When Abeba told him that she would not leave Christ, her husband threatened her with a machete. Still, Abeba didn’t let his threats stop her from attending church or practicing her faith. When she had her second child, she took him to church and dedicated him to the Lord. Her husband abandoned her and the children, saying, “Let your Jesus help you with your life. I am no longer your husband.”
