THE ADVENT TRUTH
People say, ‘The Bible doesn’t say we have to go to church.’ Okay—well it doesn’t say ‘brush your teeth,’ ‘go to bed,’ or ‘use a microphone in worship’ either. So are we throwing out everything that isn’t an exact command now—or just the parts you don’t like?”

The real issue isn’t whether the Bible uses the exact phrase “go to church,” the issue is whether God commands His people to assemble for worship—and He absolutely does.

The Bible is clear:

Hebrews 10:25 – “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is…” God literally warns against abandoning worship gatherings.
Acts 2:42, 46 – The early church met together continually for doctrine, fellowship, and prayer. That’s church.
1 Timothy 3:15 – The church is “the house of God… the pillar and ground of the truth.” You can’t claim to love truth but hate the house that holds it.
Luke 4:16 – Even Jesus had a weekly worship habit: “As His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day.” If Jesus attended corporate worship—you have no excuse.
Ephesians 4:11–13 – God gave pastors and teachers for the church. That means organized spiritual leadership, not isolated Christianity.
1 Corinthians 12:12–27 – We are members of one body. A body doesn’t function scattered—it functions connected.
Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 – Lone Christians fall easier. Isolation is spiritual suicide.

People will say, “But I don’t need church, I have a relationship with God.” That sounds good, but it’s not biblical. The Christian life was never designed to be solo. In the wilderness, even Israel worshiped together. In the New Testament, believers gathered on Sabbaths and holy convocations (Leviticus 23:3). Heaven itself is corporate worship (Revelation 7:9–10). If you don’t like worshiping with God’s people now, why would you want to do it for eternity?
