Many today say, I believe in God, yet Jesus reminds us that true faith is revealed by obedience, for He said, If ye love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15). Jesus also warned that wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, but narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:13-14). Scripture teaches that even the devils believe and tremble (James 2:19), showing that belief alone is not enough; faith must be lived out, for faith without works is dead (James 2:17). God is calling this generation to move beyond words, and into true obedience, because obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22), and blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it (Luke 11:28). Revelation strengthens this truth by declaring, Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life (Revelation 22:14). Let us therefore walk the path of obedience daily, trusting God to give us the strength to live out what we believe.
