“THE TRUTH-AND THE TRUTH ONLY:
"RETURNING TO THE LAW OF GOD”
By Elder Johnson Uguzo
Beloved, we live in a generation where truth is becoming rare, where lies are celebrated, where convenience is chosen over conviction, where many have replaced God’s commandments with human opinions.
But hear me: Truth does not adjust to a generation. Truth does not bend to culture. Truth is eternal because it comes from an eternal God.
*And the Lord says in Psalm 119:142:*
*“Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.”*
God’s law is not a suggestion. It is not a flexible guideline. It is the truth, and the truth only.
There was a young man named Daniel. His father was a strict but loving man who always told him:
“My son, if you follow truth, you will live. But if you follow lies, you will fall.”
One day, Daniel’s father traveled on a long journey and left him a sealed letter with instructions: *ALWAYS GO WITH IT*
“And Open it only when you are in danger or confused.”
Daniel grew and started making friends who had no respect for truth.
They told him:
“Life is easy…forget your father’s instructions, enjoy yourself-nobody will know.”
And Daniel listened.
He began to lie.
He started cheating.
He began compromising.
He ignored every warning.
One night, while traveling home, he got lost in a dangerous forest.
His phone died.
His torch went out.
He heard wild animals.
He cried:
“I should have listened!”
Then he remembered the letter.
With shaking hands, he opened it under the moonlight.
It read:
“My son, if you ever find yourself lost, follow the old path.
The old path never lies.”
And beneath it was a small drawing of a narrow path that led out of the forest.
Daniel looked around, and there it was - the old narrow path!
Not the wide, smooth one his friends followed…but the narrow one his father described.
He followed it, trembling, crying, regretting,
And it led him safely home.
When he saw his father, he broke down:
“Father, forgive me, your truth saved me.”
His father held him and whispered:
“Truth will always save those who return to it.”
The world is full of wide, easy paths-the path of convenience, the path of lies, the path of compromise.
But the Bible says in Jeremiah 6:16:
“Stand in the ways, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk therein”
God’s law-the Ten Commandments, is that old path.
It does not change.
It does not expire.
It does not modernize.
It is still the truth…and the truth only.
*GOD’S LAW IS THE FOUNDATION OF TRUTH*
Psalm 119:151
*“All thy commandments are truth.”*
We don’t judge truth by society.
We judge society by truth.
*TRUTH IS NOT ALWAYS POPULAR, BUT IT IS ALWAYS RIGHT*
People may call it old-fashioned.
But the old path is the only safe path.
*GOD’S TRUTH EXPOSES FALSEHOOD*
Where there is truth, deception cannot survive.
*GOD’S LAW IS A MIRROR*
It shows us who we really are,
Not who we pretend to be.
*THE TRUTH LEADS US HOME*
Just like Daniel found his way back because of his father’s instructions,
We too will find our way back if we follow God’s commandments.
Beloved, God is calling the church back to the old path.
Back to obedience…
Back to holiness…
Back to truth.
The world may shift…
Culture may change…
People may compromise…
But God’s law remains:
Eternal. Unshakable. Untouchable. Truth.
If you have wandered,
If you have compromised,
If you have ignored God’s law.
If you want to return to the old path-lift your hand.☝🏼
*Make This Prayer:*
“Father, lead me back to truth.
Write your law in my heart.
Restore my steps.
Help me walk in Your truth, and Your truth only.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
GOD BLESS YOU
