Not Coming Down
No matter what your enemies do in their attempts to destroy you, don’t fight back. Let God fight your battles for you. When you belong to Jesus, you are NOT coming down! They can mock you, gossip about you, conspire against you, and lie about you, but let them carry on. It will not destroy you, for God’s Word declares in 1 John 5:4, “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” Christians will have trials and tribulation, and you can be sure that the devil is working overtime in his attempts to separate you from God. The Bible even warns about it in 2 Corinthians 1:8-9, when Paul wrote about his tribulation: “We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced . . . We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.” You see, God wants you to totally surrender and depend on Him for everything! He has the power to control the universe, and He can surely take care of your enemies. We’re told in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.” When you try and fight your own battles, you’ll lose every time. More importantly, you’ll lose your relationship with Jesus because you’ll end up bitter and angry, which will separate you from Him. Pray for strength to release all your burdens, trials, and troubles to God - and trust Him to fight for you.
