Your fireworks flash across the sky,
a low rumble, a crash—
worlds colliding in light.

Majesty and mystery live in every crack,
every burst, every spark
dancing on the clouds.

The roar of thunder carries Your power,
Your name majestic in all the earth.
Your voice rolls beneath the heavens;
You release the lightning
and it strikes where You send it.

Unrestrained it flashes
at the sound of Your command.
You carve channels for torrents of rain—
they fall, they cleanse, they fill, they restore.
Dry barren places awaken;
new life rises where the water flows.

The Lord sits enthroned over the floodwaters.
And even in the storm,
still will I praise You.

Though it crashes around me—
flashes, roars, the shaking of earth—
You keep me safe
in the eye of the storm.

Though the winds continue to rage,
I am sheltered, held,
surrounded by Your calm
until the storm passes by.

In the centre I look out
and see the storm’s fierce beauty,
yet I marvel—
for here in Your presence,
I am untouched,
and I am at peace.
