Jezebel was the glamorous scheming pagan, whose Baalism could be considered not merely as apostasy, but rather as a demon-impelled, antitheistic religion. Jezebel herself was Baal’s chief propagandist. Her father, Ethbaal, had been high priest in the temple of Astarte at Tyre.
