Matthew 9:1-13 KJV Jubilee
St Matthew 9:1-13 And he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city.
And, behold, they brought him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said unto the paralyzed man, Trust, son; thy sins are forgiven thee.
And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes.
And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Why think ye evil in your hearts?
For what is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk?
But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (then said he to the paralyzed man), Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
Then he arose and departed to his house.
And the multitude, seeing it, marvelled and glorified God, who had given such power unto men.
And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom; and he said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
And it came to pass, as he sat at food in his house, behold, many publicans and sinners that had come sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples.
And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why does your Master eat with publicans and sinners?
But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, Those that are whole need not a physician, but those that are sick.
Therefore go ye and learn what this is, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, for I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
St Matthew 12:22-30 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a demon, blind, and dumb, and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spoke and saw.
And all the people were amazed and said, Is not this the son of David?
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not cast out demons but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons.
And Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not remain;
and if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom remain?
And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges.
But if I cast out the demons by the Spirit of God, then certainly the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Or else how can one enter into the strong man’s house and spoil his goods except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
He that is not with me is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters abroad.
St Mark 2:3-5 And they came unto him, bringing a paralytic, carried by four men.
And when they could not come near unto him for the crowd, they uncovered the roof of the house where he was; and when they had broken it open, they let down the bed in which the paralytic lay.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the paralytic, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee.
St Luke 5:18-20 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they sought means to bring him in and to lay him before him.
And when they could not find any way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
St Matthew 11:16-19 But unto whom shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets and shouting unto their fellows
and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a devil.
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a gluttonous man and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified by her children.
Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
St Matthew 12:7-8 But if ye knew what this means, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not condemn the innocent.
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
