Day 4 — The Ethiopian Treasurer: The Royal Evangelist

(Acts 8:26–40)

THE SCENE

A desert road.
A royal chariot.
A man of wealth, influence, and position —
but with a hunger no palace can satisfy.

He’s reading Isaiah.
He doesn’t understand it,
but he senses that these ancient wounds describe Someone who can heal his own.

God sends Philip —
a humble servant —
to catch up with royalty.

And for a moment, Heaven pauses to watch the conversation of two men from two different worlds.

Philip opens Scripture.
Explains the Lamb.
Reveals Christ.

The treasure in the chariot finally meets the Treasure he’s been searching for.

“Here is water. What prevents me from being baptized?”

Nothing does anymore.

He goes down into the water a seeker
and rises a son.

---

THE UNLIKELY EVANGELIST

He returns to Africa carrying more than scrolls.
He carries revelation.

Ancient Christian traditions say he became one of the earliest carriers of the gospel into Ethiopia —
a light in royal courts,
a voice in places missionaries would never have reached.

---

THE HEART OF THE DAY

You don’t need a microphone to influence nations.
You just need obedience in the moment God opens a door.

Your workplace…
Your social circles…
Your position — whether high or low —
isn’t random.

It’s assignment.

---

PRAYER

God,
open my eyes to the divine appointments You place in my path.
Give me courage to speak Jesus
where my influence reaches.
Make me faithful on the deserts roads
and in the royal courts.
Amen.
