*What you should know about the Bible*

In the 13th century --- 1201 - 1300, a man named Stephen Langton gave the bible it's chapters.

Then in the 16th century --- 1501 - 1600, another man named Robert Estienne added verse in the chapters that Stephen Langton gave.

What these two men did was to help those that will find it difficult to connect the words of God because the bible is arranged but not arranged.

It looks arranged to the physical man but to the spiritual man, it is not.

The move of this two men had advantages and disadvantages.

One of the advantages is that when preaching a sermon, you can easily navigate to where you want the believers to look at.

But the disadvantage there is that, christian began adopting the navigation process instead of reading through the bible.

And this process always leads to argument whereby when Christians wants to defend their selves, they will quote a verse for you because it fits their line or stance of defense without minding what was said before and after that verse.

This is why christians are wayward today. They look for a verse that will suit their character, behavior and attitude and go along with it.

It's actually amusing to me because originally, preachers are not to be quoting scriptures while teaching.

When Jesus was being tempted, He replied with it is written, then he spoke forth.

But we christians of our time, when we're praying to God, we quote scriptures. In our spiritual battles, we also quote scriptures.

When you want to study the bible, study with chapters and verses.

When you want to read the bible, read through.

When you want to communicate with God through prayer, speak forth the words without quotations.

In spiritual warfare, no wicked spirit will wait for you to quote o. Just speak the words.

Even when God speaks to me, He doesn't quote but after that, I'll be the one looking for the quotations.

Even movies are encouraging quotation, that's why someone will go and cram John 11:35 to come and confront you and the person will be like he or she now knows the whole bible.

Any small talk you talk, the person will tackle you with just only one verse.

And that verse is John 11:35.
