Romans 15:14-21 Exploring NLT

Paul's Reason for Writing

Romans 15:14-21 I am fully convinced, my dear brothers and sisters, that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well you can teach each other all about them.

Even so, I have been bold enough to write about some of these points, knowing that you all need is this reminder. For by God's  grace,

I am a special messenger from Christ Jesus to you Gentiles. I bring you the Good News so that I might present you  as an acceptable offering to God, made holy by the Holy Spirit.

so I have reason to be enthusiastic about all Christ Jesus has done through me in my service to God.

Yet I dare not boast about anything except what Christ had done through me, bringing the Gentiles to God by my message and by the way I worked among them.

They were convinced by the power of miraculous signs and wonders and by the power of God's Spirit. In this way, I have fully presented the Good News of Christ from Jerusalem all the way to Illyricum.

Paul's Pray for Spiritual Wisdom

Ephesians 1:15-19 Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God's people everywhere,

I have not stopped thanking God for you.  I pray for you constantly,

asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called--his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power

Romans 11:13-14 I am saying all this especially for you Gentiles. God has appointed me as the apostle to the Gentiles.  I stress this,

for I want somehow to make the people of Israel jealous, of what you Gentiles have, so I might save some of them.

1 Corinthians 1:26-31 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world's eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you.

Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.

God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As s result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. Therefore, as the Scripture say, "If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD."

Acts 15:12 Everyone listened quietly as Barnabas and Paul told about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.

Acts 21:18-21 The next day Paul went with us to meet with James, and all the elders of the Jerusalem church were present.

After greeting them, Paul gave a detailed account of the things God had accomplished among the Gentiles through his ministry.

After hearing this, they praised God. And then they said, "You know, dear brother, how many thousands of Jews have also believed, and they all follow the law of Moses very seriously.

But the Jewish believers here in Jerusalem have been told that you are teaching all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn their backs on the laws of Moses. They've heard that you teach them not to circumcise their children or follow other Jewish customs.

Acts 2:18-21 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants--men and women alike--and they will prophesy.

And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below--blood and fire and clouds of smoke.

The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the LORD arrives.

But everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.'

The LORD'S Suffering Servant

Isaiah 52:13-15 See, my servant will prosper; he will be highly exalted.

But many were amazed when they saw him. His face so disfigured he seemed hardly human, and from his appearance, one would scarcely know he was a man.

And he will startle many nations. Kings will stand speechless in his presence. For they will see what they had not been told; they will understand what they had not heard about.
