Why is the church gathering so important?
In common words, why do we go to church?
When we gather, the power of Jesus to move things in the spirit is among us.
When we gather, we form a unit and we carry a unique power when we're together.
Jesus said in Matthew 18:20 that when two or more are gathered in his name, He is there.
And you may ask yourself... Is Jesus not present with me when I pray? Is He only present when we come together? What is unique about two or more gathered together?
When we gather, we become the body of Christ on earth.
As an individual, I have the Holy spirit. That makes me connected to Jesus. I can represent the power of God as an individual but I cannot represent the body of Christ as an individual.
*Why is it important for the body of Christ to gather?*
Because when we are the body of Christ on earth, the power of God is among us to make a decision in spiritual matters.
As a body, we have the authority and the power of Jesus to cause change on earth.
But as an individual, you don't have power and authority until Jesus gives it to you. When He gives it to you, you will know.
Do you think God will carry power and authority and give to an individual just like that?
No! Power and authority is given to an individual with a verified character from God because he has pass an exam God set before him.
The more exam you pass, the more power and authority is added to you.
The church is a community we're all called to. We teach, we worship and we do all other good things that we ought to do.
But the activities are not the goal. All the activities are intended to build up the community of faith.
Everything we do together are for the purpose of building ourselves up in love as a group, as a community, as being in each other's lives, people knowing each other, people being in each other's lives to such an extent that if a person was living in such a way that was inappropriate, it will be known amongst the people.
When we do this, the power of Jesus is among us. It's all about the power of Jesus. It's all about God's power being expressed on the earth.
It is so important that we get this because I think that often times, we settle for experiencing the presence of God instead of gathering in such a way that it produces the power of God and then going further, so that we mature.
When we do all this, we're able to mature as a unit, as a community to walk in and express the power of God in natural and spiritual.
The existence of the church is to demonstrate God's wisdom to the angels.
We have a much higher call than to simply come together.
