Genesis 1:1-5 First Seven Days- Day 1 RSV

The First Book of Moses Commonly Called Genesis

Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.

And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.

And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.

God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night, And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Good, and the Word was God.

He was in the beginning with God;

all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.

In him was life, and the life was the light of men,

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it,

John 1:14-18 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory,  glory as of the only Son from the Father.

(John bore witness with him, and cried, "This was he of whom I said, "He who comes after me ranks before me, for he was before me.')

And from his fulness have we all received, grace upon grace.

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known,

John 10:30 I and the Father are one."

John 3:13-21 No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up,

that whoever believes in him may have eternal life,"

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.

He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgement, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

But he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God.

Colossians 1:15-18 He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation;

for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities-- all things were created through him and for him.

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be pre-eminent.

1 John 5:11-13 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not life.

I write this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.

Genesis 1:14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years,

2 Corinthians 4:5-6 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

For it is the God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Revelation 22:1-5 Then he showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb

through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with the twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations,

There shall no more be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall worship him;

they shall see his face, and his name shall be on their foreheads.

And night shall be no more; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they shall reign for ever and ever.
