John 3:13-21 30+ in Depth RSV

Ephesians 2:4-7 But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us,

even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

and raised us up with him, and made us sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 4:7-10 But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.

Therefore it is said, "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men."

(In saying, "He ascended," what does it it mean but that he had also descended into the lower parts of the earth?

He who descended is he who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Ephesians 5:8-13 for once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light

(for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true).

and try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord,

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret;

but when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light.

1 John 4:7-11 Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God.

He who does not love does not know God; for God is love.

In this the love of GOD was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the expiation for our sins,

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 John 4:14-15 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son as the Savior of the world.

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

Genesis 15:1-6 After these things the word of the LORD, came to Abram in a vision. "Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great."

But Abram said, O Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house E-li-e'zer of Damascus?"

And Abram said, "Behold, thou hast me no offspring; and a slave born in my house will be my heir."

And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, "This man shall not be your heir; you own son shall be your heir."

And he brought him outside and said, "Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them."Then he said to them, "So shall your descendants be,"

And he believed the LORD; and he reckoned it to him as righteousness.
