CHRISTIANITY ✝️ TODAY Daily Devotional Companion WHERE ENVYING AND STRIFE ARE James 3:16 (KJV).....For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. Envy and strife are two bad fruits, and their equation is always terrible. Any organisation or family where they are permitted, they will wreak havoc. No true believer should manifest this; just like you have 1+1=2 in a mathematical equation, so it is with envy+strife=confusion and every evil work. This evil work can include backbiting, lying, anger, and killing. I like the way the Amplified translation elaborates it: James 3:16 AMPC [16] For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices. There is no church that is free of these things, but any church where they are permitted to stay and it becomes the order of the day, then I tell you it won't take time; the church will fold up. Rivalry and selfish ambition are never from the Spirit of God, and we must fight to stop them amongst our folds.
