CHRISTIANITY ✝️ TODAY Daily Devotional Companion COERCED SERVICE. Colossians 3:23 (AMPC)..... Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, What is it, you may ask? To coerce is to persuade (an unwilling person) to do something by using force or threats. Bring it to the church, and your service to God, any service you render in the house of God, but if you were only persuaded to do it because you never wanted to, it is a coerced service, and God does not receive such service because it is not coming from your heart. This is the same with giving, worship, attending meetings, fasting, etc. So long as it is not from your heart, then know it will come with no reward. Coerced service is a sin before the Lord. It is offering a strange fire before the Lord, and it must stop. Be guided. Prayer; Thank you father for this your truth to me this day and because it is a light unto my path, it has liberated me to offer services and sacrifices that will only be accepted by God because it is coming from my heart.
