John 8:28-29 Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.

"And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him."

John 12:34-36 The people answered Him, "We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, 'The Son of Man must be lifted up"? Who is this Son of Man?"

Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

"While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.

John 12:44-47 Then Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.

"And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.

"I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.

"And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

A Samaritan Village Rejects the Savior

Luke 9:51-56 Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem,

and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him.

But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem.

And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them. just as Elijah did?"

But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of.

"For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them." And they went to another village.

Luke 12:41-48 The Peter said to Him, "Lord, do You speak this parable only to us, or to all people?"

And the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?

"Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.

"Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.

"But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,'and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk,

"the master of that servant will come on a day when he not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

"And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

"But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

Luke 19:8-10 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold."

And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;

"for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Romans 5:8-9 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
