1 John 4:14-15 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

God's Covenant with Abram

Genesis 15:1-6 After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward."

But Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?"

Then Abram said, "Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!"

And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, "This one shall not be our heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir."

Then He brought him outside and said, "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if your are able to number them." And He said to him, "So shall your descendants be,"

And he believed in the LORD, and he accounted it to him for righteousness.

Moses Intercedes for the People

Numbers 14:11 Then the LORD said to Moses; "How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?

Numbers 21:7-9 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people.

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live."

So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, If a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

Job 24:13-17 "There are those who rebel against the light; They do not know its ways Nor abide in its paths.

The murderer rises with the light; He kills the poor and needy; And in the night he is like a thief.
