Instructions on How to pray

James 5:13-17 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sings praise.

Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

and the prayer of faith will save the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects.

E-li'jah was a man of like nature with ourselves and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.

Matthew 6:6-15 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

"And in praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words.

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Pray then like this; Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

And forgive us our debts, As we also have forgiven our debtors;

And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive them;

but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

2 Chronicles 7:14-16 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways,  then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.

For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there for ever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time.

Here is the Prayer

Nehemiah 1:4-11 When I heard these words I sat down and wept, and mourned for days; and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

And I said, "O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments;

let thy ear be attentive, and thy eyes open, to hear the prayer of thy servant which I now pray before thee day and night for the people of Israel thy servants, confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against thee. Yea, I and my father's house have sinned.

We have acted very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, the statues, or the ordinances which thou didst command thy servant Moses,

Remember the word which thou didst command thy servant Moses, Saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples;

but if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, though your dispersed be under the farthest skies, I will gather them thence and bring them to the place which I have chosen, to make my name dwell there.'

They are thy servants, and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power and by thy strong hand.

O LORD, let thy ear be attentive to thy prayer of they servant, and to the prayer of thy servants who delight to fear thy name; and give success to thy servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man,"
