Genesis 1:1-5 First Seven Days-Day 1 NET

 The Creation of the World

Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Now the earth was without shape and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the watery deep, but the spirit of God was moving over the surface of the water.

God said, "Let there be light." And there was light!

God saw that the light was good, so God separated the light from the darkness.

God called the light "day" and the darkness "night." There was evening, and there was morning, marking the first day.

The Prologue to the Gospel

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Was was fully God.

The Word was with God in the beginning.

All things were created by him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created.

In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind,

And the light shines on in the darkness, but the darkness has not mastered it.

John 1:14-18 Now the Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We saw his glory--the glory of the one and only, full of grace and truth, who came from the Father

John testified about him and shouted out, 'This one was the one about whom I said, 'He who comes after me is greater than I am, because he existed before me."

For we have all received from his fullness one gracious gift after another.

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God. The only one, himself God, who is in closest fellowship with the Father, has mase God known.

John 10:30 The Father and I are one."

John 3:13-21 No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven--the Son of Man.

Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."

For this is the way God loved the world; He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, bu that the world should be saved through him.

The one who believes in him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

Now this is the basis for judging; that the light has come into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.

For everyone who does evil deeds hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed.

But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be plainly evident that his deeds have been done in God.

The Supremacy of Christ

Colossians 1:15-18 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,

for all things in heaven and on earth were created in him--all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers--all things were created through him and for him.

He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him.

He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things.

1 John 5:11-13 And this is the testimony; God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.

Assurance of Eternal Life

I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Genesis 1:14 God said, "Let  there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs to indicate seasons and days and years,

2 Corinthians 4:5-6 For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake.

For God, who said "Let light shine out of darkness," is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.

Revelation 22:1-5 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life--water as clear as crystal--pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

flowing down the middle of the city's main street. On each side of the river is the tree of life producing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month of the year. It's leaves are for the healing of the nations.

And there will no longer be any curse, and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city. His servants will worship him,

and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

Night will be no more, and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever.
