John 3:13-21 30+ in Depth CR NIV

John 8:28-29 So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak what the Father has taught me.

The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him."

John 12:34-36 The crowd spoke up, "We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, "The Son of Man must be lifted up'? Who is this 'Son of Man'?"

Then Jesus told them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going,

Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light." When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.

John 12:44-47 The Jesus cried out, "Whoever believes in me does not believed in me only but in the one who sent me,

The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me.

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

"If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person, For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn then at the last day.

Samaritan Opposition

Luke 9:51-56 As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.

And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him;

but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem.

When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?"

But Jesus turned and rebuked them.

Then he and his disciples went to another village.

Luke 12:41-48 Peter asked, "Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?"

The Lord answered, "Who then is the faithful and wise manger, whom the master put in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?

It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.

Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.

But suppose the servant says to himself, "My master is taking a long time in coming,' and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk.

The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.

"The servant who knows the master's will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.

But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

Luke 19:8-10 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."

Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

Romans 5:8-9 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

More Than Conquerors

Romans 8:31-32 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

He who did not spare his only Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
