The Bible uses "repent" (the verb) and "repentance" (the noun) to describe a single
concept:

change of mind and a turning from sin to God. The Bible does not establish a difference between the two in meaning; rather, it uses them interchangeably to denote a shift in thinking that results in a change of behavior and life actions.

Meaning of repent/repentance in the Bible

Change of mind: The original Greek word, metanoeo, implies a change in one's mindset or understanding.

Turning from sin to God: This change in mindset leads to a "180-degree turn," meaning a person turns away from their old way of life and turns toward
God and faith in Christ.

Results in actions: A genuine change of mind about Christ will inevitably produce a change in actions, or "deeds in keeping with their repentance"
