The King Rides Forth

A Poem of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

The sun grows dim in anguish, the moon turns as to blood,
The trembling earth gives way beneath a world undone by flood.
The stars fall from their sentries, the heavens crack and groan,
The nations shake in terror—for the King is coming down.

War drums fill the valleys, smoke darkens every sky,
The armies of rebellion gather for one final cry.
Their banners snap like shadows on Megiddo’s weary plain—
But silence grips creation… for the Lamb begins His reign.

A tear of light—then bursting, the heavens split apart,
A thunder like a thousand storms beats in the sinner’s heart.
Upon a white horse blazing, robed in glory fierce and bright,
Rides Christ, the Word Eternal, in majesty and might!

His robe is dipped in judgment, His eyes are flames of fire,
A crown of many diadems declares His holy power.
From out His mouth a sharpened sword shines with divine command—
One word shall fell the kingdoms built on dust and shifting sand.

Behind Him, clothed in linen, the armies pure and fair,
A multitude unnumbered sweep through the riven air.
No stain of war is on them, no fear can touch their hand—
For Christ alone brings victory when His feet touch the land.

The Beast lifts up his weapon, the False One speaks his lies,
But terror fills their spirits when they meet the Rider’s eyes.
The mountains split before Him, the valleys lift in praise,
Jerusalem cries, “Blessed is the King who saves!”

Lightning crowns the horizon, thunder bows low and sings;
The winds flee in obedience to the Master of all things.
He stands upon the Mount once more, as prophets long foretold,
And living waters fountain forth in streams of liquid gold.

The nations fall in silence; the proud are brought to dust.
The meek behold their Savior—the Faithful, True, and Just.
He gathers Israel’s remnant close, wipes every weeping tear,
And speaks with voice of mercy, “Peace, My children… I am here.”

Then dawn breaks on the kingdom, creation breathes again,
The curse dissolves like morning mist beneath the reign of Him.
The Lion and the Lamb enthroned, the war of ages done—
For Christ the King has conquered, and His thousand years begun.
