Our morning prayer focuses on "Peace for a restored world." 2. *OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL* *DATE: SUNDAY NOVEMBER 30TH 2025* *TOPIC: SOURCES OF PROPHECY II* *MEMORISE:* “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” - (Matthew 7:15) *BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 7:15-21 (KJV)* 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 29 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. *MESSAGE:* Yesterday, I started teaching about the sources of prophecy and how a prophecy can come from the human spirit. Today, I will discuss some ways prophecies can come from the devil. The prophecies that come from the devil are lies with some elements of truth in them to confuse and derail the recipients. The devil might even misinterpret a portion of the Scriptures to support his lies so that a believer will think that the prophecy is from God. When a prophecy comes from the devil, it is only a matter of time before it produces the fruits of the devil. When satan gets to a place, he has three assignments: to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Any prophecy from him will eventually steal from those who believe it, kill their joy and dreams, and destroy their hope. When the young girl in Acts 16:16-18 said some prophetic words, they had many elements of truth in them. However, Paul knew that her words were from the devil. The devil wanted the people to keep their focus on the girl and not on Jesus. He wanted to distract men from knowing Jesus. The devil knows how to say things and manipulate them to come to pass. Some people hear prophecies from the devil and just ignore them; however, that can be dangerous. There was a very wealthy man who quarrelled with his wife, and she told him that by the time she was 'done' with him, he would have to walk to get anywhere within Lagos. When the woman said that, the man laughed because, at that time, he had fourteen cars. Before long, however, he lost all his cars until he had just one left and only 50 kobo in his pocket. He then said to himself, "If I use this 50 kobo to fuel my car, what will I eat? If I buy food with the money, then I will have to walk around Lagos like my wife prophesied." That was when he came to Jesus Christ, and Jesus began to remedy his situation. On the day he shared his testimony, he dedicated two new houses. I pray for you today that any negative prophecy that might be working against your life and destiny is nullified, in Jesus' name. Beloved, you must be careful about the people you give permission to speak into your life. King Solomon applied wisdom to determine the mother of the living child (1 Kings 3:23-28).* *The wisdom of God is freely given to youths who are in covenant relationship with God. You can never understand what it means to be truly born again and all that you stand to enjoy as a Christian until you make up your mind to walk in divine wisdom.* *Divine wisdom is different from the wisdom of the world, which is also known as secular wisdom. It is also different from satanic wisdom. Divine wisdom is from above and given by God to provide grace and strength for Christians to live and act right. Do you lack divine wisdom? Genesis 5:24 READ Genesis 5:21-24 audio playLISTEN ONLINE Pedro became a follower of Jesus at fifty. He’d been an angry, vindictive man who hurt those around him. As he received counseling from his church, he felt remorse over his past. “I now have less years ahead of me than behind me,” he said. “I want to live them well. But how?” Pedro found his answer in an unlikely source—a genealogy. As he read Moses’ account of Adam’s family line, he noted that one sentence was repeated to describe Adam’s descendants: “Altogether, [name] lived a total of [number] years, and then he died” (see Genesis 5:8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 27, 31). But one man was described differently. Enoch was described as one who “walked faithfully with God” (vv. 22, 24). He drew near to God, and that’s how he spent his earthly life. Because of his faith, “he was commended as one who pleased God” (Hebrews 11:5). Enoch had a steadfast, abiding trust in who God was and what He’d do for those who sought Him (v. 6). He expressed his trust in the Almighty by acting on it and obeying Him, and his faith was such that God spared him from physical death (v. 5). “How can I live my years well?” Pedro asked. “By walking faithfully with God.” Our earthly life doesn’t have to be summed up in just a number. It can be summed up in our faith, which allows God to work in more ways than we can count. By Karen Huang REFLECT & PRAY In your life, what would “walking faithfully with God” look like? How can you act on your trust in Him? Dear Father, I’m not meant to walk through life on my own. Please help me walk faithfully with You. Gain the tools needed to walk faithfully with God. SCRIPTURE INSIGHT “Walk” or “walking” is a metaphor used in the Bible to depict the life of faith as a journey. To “walk” means taking physical steps toward a desired destination. To walk with God is to have a relationship and fellowship with Him. Enoch is the first person the Bible describes as one who “walked faithfully with God” (Genesis 5:22, 24). Noah too “found favor in the eyes of the Lord” and “walked faithfully with God” (6:8-9). The metaphor of walking continues in the New Testament. We’re to “walk by the Spirit” (Galatians 5:16), to “walk in the way of love” (Ephesians 5:2), to “walk in the light” (1 John 1:7), to “[walk] in the truth” (2 John 1:4), and to “walk in obedience to his commands” (v. 6). To walk faithfully with God, we must “live as Jesus did” (1 John 2:6), or, as the nkjv renders it, “walk just as [Jesus] walked.” K.T.
