John 3:13-21 30+ In Depth NET

John 12:34-36 Then the crowd responded, "We have heard from the law that the Christ will remain forever." How can you say, "The Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?"

Jesus replied, "The light will with you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. The one who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become sons of light." When Jesus had said these things, he went away and hid himself from them.

Jesus' Final Public Words

John 12:44-47 But Jesus shouted out, "The one who believes in me does not believe in me, but in the one who sent me,

and the one who sees me sees the one who sent me.

I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in darkness.

If anyone hears my words and does not obey them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

Rejection in Samaria

Luke 9:51-56 Now when the days drew near for him to be taken up, Jesus set out resolutely to go to Jerusalem.

He sent messengers on ahead of him. As they went along, they entered a Samaritan village to make things ready in advance for him,

but the villagers refused to welcome him, because he was determined to go to Jerusalem.

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume them,

But Jesus turned and rebuked them,

and they went on to another village.

Luke 12:41-48 Then Peter said, "Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for everyone?

The Lord replied, "Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his household servants, to give them their allowance of food at the proper time?

Blessed is that slave whom his master finds at work when he returns.

I tell you the truth,  the master will put him in charge of all his possessions.

But if that slave should say to himself, 'My master is delayed in returning,' and he begins to beat the other slaves, both men and women, and to eat, drink, and get drunk,

then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee, and will cut him in two, and assign him a place with the unfaithful.

That servant who knew his mater's will but did not get ready or do what his master asked will receive a severe beating

But the one who did not know his master's will and did things worthy of punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked.

Luke 19:8-10 But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!"

Then Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this household, because he too is a son of Abraham!

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

Romans 5:8-9 But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by his blood, we will be saved through him from God's wrath.
