Tired and Done
It doesn’t matter how old you are, how wealthy, how smart, or even where you live; there will always be ups and downs in your life. Some days will be more challenging than others, but at some point, there will come a time when you’re going through a particularly difficult trial in your life that you'll want to throw your hands up and say, “I’m tired and done!” “I’m tired of the heartache, pain, bitterness, anger, fake friends, fighting, betrayal, gossip, financial difficulties, family drama, and I’m really tired of just how hard this life is!” It’s human nature to want to run away when life’s burdens seem too heavy to bear. Sadly, for some, the pain and darkness is so deep that they can’t take any more and make the agonizing decision to end their lives. But suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem. Many people mistakenly think that everyone who ends their life will not be in heaven, but that is simply not true. No one but God can judge people’s hearts. Anyone who kills themselves is obviously not in the right state of mind. They are in such a dark place that they are not thinking rationally and can’t see another way out. God is a God of Love, and He alone knows what each one is going through. He is tenderhearted and filled with compassion toward those who are hurting. When life seems too much to bear and you feel all alone, remember that Jesus is with you and no matter what . . . He will “always” love you! The Bible says in Joshua 1:9, "Be strong. Be brave. Be fearless. You are never alone." When you are at your lowest, your self-esteem is in the toilet, and the emptiness in your soul feels like it is choking the life out of you, don’t trust your thoughts or your feelings. Trust in Jesus and know that there WILL be better days! Psalm 30:5 promises, “Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” Instead of feeling like you are “tired and done,” take God at His Word and be encouraged by His promise in Philippians 4:5-7: “The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Text: 1 Peter 5:10, Psalm 34:18, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, John 16:33
