Ecclesiastics 3:1-8 30+ RSV

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven;

a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

a time a weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stone together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:16-17 Moreover I saw under the sun that in the place of justice, even there was wickedness, and in a place of righteousness, even there was wickedness.

I said in my heart, God will judge judge the righteousness and the wicked, for he has appointed a time for every matter, and for every work.

Ecclesiastes 2:26 For to the man who pleases him God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy; but to the sinner he gives the work of gathering and heaping, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

Ecclesiastes 8:6 For every matter has its time and way, although man's troubles lies heavy upon him.

Genesis 37:29-33 when Reuben returned to the pit and saw that Joseph was not in the pit, he rent his clothes

and returned to his brothers, and said, "The lad is gone; and I, where shall I go?"

Then they took Joseph's robe, and killed a goat, and dipped the robe in the blood'

and they sent the long robe with sleeves and brought it to their father, and said, "This we have found; see now whether it is your son's robe or not."

And he recognized it, and said, "It is my son's robe; a wild beast has devoured him; Joseph is without doubt torn to pieces."

Exodus 15:20-21 Then Miriam, the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women  went out after her with timbrels and dancing.

And Miriam sang to them: "Sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea."

Exodus 20:12-17 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

"You shall not kill.

"You shall not commit adultery.

"You shall not steal.

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

"You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or anything that is your neighbor's."

Esther 4:14 For if you keep silence at such a time as this, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another quarter, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

2 Samuel 3:31-32 Then David said to Jo'ab and to all the people who were with him, "Rend your clothes, and gird on sackcloth, and mourn before Abner." And King David followed the bier.

They buried Abner at He'bron; and the king lifted up his voice and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.

2 Samuel 11:1 In the spring of the year, the time when kings go forth to battle, David sent Jo'ab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they ravaged the Am'mo-nites, and besieged Rab'bah. But David remained at Jerusalem.

2 Kings 3:25 And they overthrew the cities, and on every good piece of land every man threw a stone, until it was covered; they stopped every spring of water, and felled all the good trees; till only its stones were left in Kir-har-e-seth, and the slingers surrounded and conquered it.

2 Kings 7:15 So they went after them as far as the Jordan; and, lo, all the way was littered with garments and equipment which the Syrians had thrown away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.

Lamentations 3:37-39 Who has commanded and it came to pass, unless the Lord has ordained it"

Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and evil come?

Why should a living man complain, a man, about the punishment of his sins?
