Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 30 + GNT

A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses

He sets the time for birth, and the time for death, the time for planting and the time for pulling up,

the time for killing, the time for healing, the time for tearing down, and the time for building.

He sets the time for sorrow and the time for joy, the time for mourning and the time for dancing.

the time for making love, and the time for not making love, the time for kissing and the time for not kissing.

He sets the time for finding and the time for losing, the time for saving and the time for throwing away,

the time for tearing, and the time for mending, the time for silence and the time for talk.

He sets the time for love and the time for hate, the time for war and the time for peace.

Injustice in the World

Ecclesiastes 3:16-17 In addition, I have also noticed that in this world you find wickedness where justice and right ought to be.

I told myself, "God is going to judge the righteous and the evil alike, because everything, every action will happen at its own set time"

Ecclesiastes 2:26 God gives wisdom, knowledge, and happiness to those who please him, but he makes sinners work, earning and saving, so that what they get can be given to those who please him. It is all useless. it is like chasing the wind.

Ecclesiastes 8:6 There is a right time and a right way to do everything, but we know so little!

Genesis 37:29-33 When Reuben came back to the well and found that Joseph was not there, he tore his clothes in sorrow.

He returned to his brothers and said, "The boy is not there! What am I going to do?"

Then they killed a goat and dipped Joseph's robe in the blood.

They took the robe to their father and said, "We found this. Does it belong to your son?"

He recognized it and said, Yes, it is his! Some wild animal has killed him, My son Joseph has been torn to pieces".

Exodus 15:20-21 The prophet Miriam, Aaron's sister, took her tambourine, and all the women followed her, playing tambourines and dancing.

Miriam sang for them: "Sing to the Lord, because he has won a glorious victory; he has thrown the horses and the riders into the sea."

Exodus 20:12-17 "Respect your father and your mother, so that you may live a long time in the land that I am giving you.

"Do not commit murder.

"Do not commit adultery.

"Do not steal.

"Do not accuse anyone falsely.

"Do not desire another man's house; do not desire his wife, his slaves, his cattle, his donkeys, or anything else that he owns."

Esther 4:14 If you keep quiet at a time like this, help will come from heaven to the Jews, and they will be saved, but you will die and your father's family will come to an end. Yet who knows--maybe it was for a time like this that you were made queen!"

Abner is Buried

2 Samuel 3:31-32 Then David order Joab and his men to tear their clothes, wear sackcloth, and mourn for Abner. And at the funeral King David himself walked behind the coffin.

Abner was buried at Hebron, and the king wept aloud at the grave, and so did all the people.

David and Bathsheba

2 Samuel 11:1 The following spring, at the time of the year when kings usually go to war, David sent out Joab with his officers and the Israelite army; they defeated the Ammonites and besieged the city of Rabbah. But David himself stayed in Jerusalem.

2 Kings 3:25 and destroying  their cities. As they passed by a fertile field, every Israelite would throw a stone on it until finally all the fields were covered; they also stopped up the springs and cut down the fruit trees. At last only the capital of Kir Heres was left and the slingers surrounded it and attacked it.

2 Kings 7:15 The men went as far as the Jordan, and all along the road they saw the clothes and equipment that the Syrians had abandoned as they fled. Then they returned and reported to the king.

Lamentations 3:37-39 The will of the Lord alone is always carried out.

Good and evil alike take place at his command.

Why should we ever complain when we are punished for our sin?
