Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 30+ CR NIV

A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time for tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:16-17 And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment--wickedness was there, in the place of justice--wickedness was there.

I said to myself, "God will bring into judgment both the the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed."

Ecclesiastes 2:26 To the person who pleased him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind,

Ecclesiastes 8:6 For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person may be weighed down by misery.

Genesis 37:29-33 When Reuben returned to the cistern and saw that Joseph was not there, he tore his clothes,

He went back to his brothers and said, "The boy isn't there! Where can I turn now!"

Then they got Joseph's robe, slaughtered a goat and dipped the robe in the blood.

They took the ornate robe back to their father and said, "We found this, Examine it to see whether it is your son's robe."

He recognized it and said, "It is my son's robe! Some ferocious animal has devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces."

Exodus 15:20-21 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron's sister took the timbrel in her hand,  and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing.

Miriam sang to them: " Sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea."

Exodus 20:12-17 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may life long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

"You shall not murder.

"You shall not commit adultery.

"You shall not steal.

"You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

"You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"

2 Samuel 3:31-32 Then David said to Joab and all the people with him, "Tear your clothes and put on sackcloth and walk in mourning in front of Abner." Kind David himself walked behind the bier.

They buried Abner in Hebron, and the king wept aloud at Abner's tomb. all the people wept also.
