The fear and dread of you will fall on all beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
"But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
"Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.
As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it."
Psalm 9:19-20 Arise, Lord do not let mortals triumph; let the nations be judged in you presence.
Strike them with terror, Lord; let the nations know they are mortal.
Isaiah 8:11-15 This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people;
"Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.
The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear. he is the one you are to dread.
He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and snare.
Many of them will stumble; they will fall and be broken, they will be snared and captured."
Breaking Covenant Through Blemished Sacrifices
Malachi 1:6-11 "A son honors his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?" says the Lord Almighty. " It is you priests who show contempt for my name. "But you ask, "How have we shown contempt for your name?"
"By offering defiled food on my altar. "But you ask, 'How have we defied you?" By saying that the Lord's table is contemptible.
When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you? says the Lord Almighty.
"Now plead with God to be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will he accept you?"--says the Lord Almighty.
"Oh, that one of you would shut the temples doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you, says the Lord Almighty, " and I will accept no offering from your hands.
My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations," says the Lord Almighty,
Malachi 2:3-8 "Because of you I will rebuke your descendants; I will smear on your faces the dung from your festival sacrifices, and you will be carried off with it.
And you will know that I have sent you this warning so that my covenant with Levi may continue," says the Lord Almighty.
"My covenant was with him, a covenant of life and peace, and I gave them to him; this called for reverence and he revered me and stood in awe of my name.
True instruction was in his mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many from sin.
For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth.
But you have turned from the way and and by your teaching have caused many to stumble; you have violated the covenant with Levi," says the Lord Almighty.
