*FAMILY SERIES: IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO BE A GODLY PARENT*
*Joel 2:25 (KJV):* “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.”
Some parents only discover the right principles of parenting later in life, often after their children are already grown. Maybe you’ve just begun walking closely with God, and now your child is fifteen, twenty, or even older. You may feel as though it’s too late to make a difference.
But hear this clearly: It’s not too late.
You may not have known how to raise them in the Word before, but you know now and that is where you begin. Don’t let guilt or regret silence you.
Send them a devotional. Invite them to church, or take them with you. Pray for them daily. Call them just to speak encouragement and love.
Even if you and your child are not currently on speaking terms, take the step and reach out.
At first, it may seem like nothing is changing, but with time their hearts will soften. You are not too late because God is never late. He can restore what you believe was lost. He can still reach your child through you.
Yes, your child may be older, but you are still their parent. Your voice and your prayers, carry power because God is behind them. Hallelujah!
