Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
That moment in time when you realized what came out of your mouth was completely incorrect and is totally out nature for your character…That usually happens to me when I have too many items on my plate or a multitude of thoughts going through my head at the same time. Not realizing the consequences until the words exit my mouth. This happened this morning. Today I made the comment “I am okay with it, but I am not there, you need to call…..” I am sure the person did make the call, but right after I hung up, I was like What on earth did you just say? The fact that I knew better …
I am one to try and think before I speak, however, this being my off day and no coffee yet (total excuses here) I guess my brain had not engaged that part yet. I now have two choices for my personal peace … 1) let it eat at me all day until I make sure it has been tended to or 2) make an attempt to apologize for my error in judgement and ask for forgiveness. And of course…me being me… I chose option 3 … which is a combination of both.
There is a reason that we are instructed to be ‘quick to listen’ and ‘slow to speak’. When we follow that guideline, fewer of these situations happen. There is a chance that this will become a muddy mess and I will be the blame. Which is absolutely correct. But aside from that … the internal lesson that I learned. I am human. I make mistakes. I need to slow down. I need to think first. When I don’t, things get messy. They can be fixed, but sometimes just a few extra seconds is all it takes to make sure the muddy mess doesn’t happen in the first place.
When the snow is flying and the temperatures drop, we all tend to go into survival mode. I know that when I do that, my brain does not always function as it should. However, when the brain breaks, take a few moments to gather yourself, find the solution, and move forward. And most importantly, learn.
Today is supposed to be a frigid day. Stay warm. Stay safe. Spread the Love of the Father.
Be blessed today my friends.
