The Family Tree of King David
1 Chronicles 2:9-17 Hezron had there sons: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Caleb.
The family line from Ram to Jesse is as follows: Ram, Amminadab, Nahshon (a prominent man of the tribe of Judah).
Salmon, Boaz,
Obed, and Jesse.
Jesse had seven sons, In order of age they were: Eliab, Abinadab, Shammah,
Nethanel, Raddai,
Ozem and David,
He also had two daughters, Zeruiah and Abigail. Jesse's daughter Zeruiah had three sons: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel.
His other daughter Abigail married Jether, a descendant of Ishmael, and they had a son name Amasa.
Matthew 1:2-6a From Abraham to King David, the following ancestors are listed:
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah and his brothers;
then Perez and Zerah (their mother was Tamar).

But the Lord said to him, "Pay no attention to how tall and handsome he is. I have rejected him, because I do not judge as people judge, They look at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart.
Then Jesse called his son Abinadab and brought him to Samuel. But Samuel said , " No, the Lord hasn't chosen him either."
Jesse then brought Shammah. "No, the Lord hasn't chosen him either. "Samuel said.
In this way Jesse brought seven of his sons to Samuel. And Samuel said to him, "No the Lord hasn't chosen any of these."
Then he asked him, "Do you have any more sons?" Jesse answered. There is still the youngest, but he is out taking care of the sheep." "Tell him to come here, Samuel said. "We wont offer the sacrifice until he comes."
So Jesse sent for him. He was a handsome, healthy young man, and his eyes sparkled. The Lord said to Samuel, "This is the one-- anoint him!"
Samuel took the olive oil and anointed David in front of his brothers. Immediately the spirit of the Lord took control of David and was with him from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah.
David in Saul's Camp
1 Samuel 17:12-19 David was the son of Jesse, who was and Ephrathite from Bethlehem in Judah. Jesse had eight sons, and at the time Saul was king, he was already a very old man.
His three oldest sons had gone with Saul to war. The oldest was Eliab, the next was Abinadab, and the third wasd Shammah.
David was the youngest son, and while the three oldest brothers stayed with Saul.
David would go back to Bethlehem from time to time, to take care of his father's sheep.
Goliath challenged the Israelites every morning and evening for forty days.
One day Jesse said to David, "Take a half-bushel of this roasted grain and these ten loaves of bread, and hurry with them to your brother in the camp.
And take these ten cheeses to the commanding officer, Find out how your brothers are getting along and bring back something to show that you saw them and that they are well.
King Saul, your brothers, and all the other Israelites are in Elah Valley fighting the Philistines.
2 Samuel 2:18-23 The three sons of Zeruiah were there: Joab, Abishai, and Asahel, Asahel who could run as fast as a wild deer,
started chasing Abner, running straight for him.
Abner looked back and said," Is that you, Asahel?" "Yes" he answered.
"Stop chasing me!" Abner said "Run after one of the soldiers and take what he has." But Asahel kept on chasing him.
Once more Abner said to him "Stop chasing me! Why force me to kill you? How could I face your brother Joab?
But Asahel would not quit, so Abner, with a backward thrust of his spear, struck him through the stomach so that the spear came out at his back. Asahel dropped to the ground dead, and everyone came to the place where he was lying stopped and stood there.
